Search engine optimization (SEO) is a substance foreign to many people. Rarely a day passes when I do not get asked a few questions on the topic. So I decided to publish this article in the FAQ hopes it will help people to understand the basics, and make them a little more comfortable with the whole area.

Q: Why Search Engine important to me?

A: 85% of all website traffic is driven by the search engines. The only online activity more popular than research is a messaging service. 79.2% of American users do not go to page 2 of the results. 42% of users click on the no.1 result. For the under-40 years, the Internet will become the most used in the media the next 2-3 years.

Q: How do search engines decide their ranking? SEO Expert

A: IMPORTANT: You can not pay a search engine in exchange for a high ranking in the natural results. You can get a high if your content is deemed relevant by the search engines.

Q: How can I get a good ranking?

A: There are four stages:

Step 1 – Use the right words on your site

Step 2 – Get lots of relevant sites to link to yours

Step 3 – Use the right words in these links

Step 4 – Have a lot of your content and add more regularly

Q: What is search engine optimization (SEO)?

A: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the art of creating a Web site that is search engine. That means:

1. using the right words in your copy

2. using the right words in your HTML

3. structure your site correctly

4. design your site

Many people use SEO also describe the other ingredients in a high-ranking, “Link Popularity”.

Q: What is the link popularity?

A: Think of the search engines as a big election. All sites in the world are candidates. The backlinks are votes. The more votes (links) a candidate (website) has, the more important it is, the higher its ranking. Link popularity is all about the number of links you have, and how you can get more.

Links to your site on search engines to tell how your site is important. Q: How do I get lots of links to my site?

Q: What is the Google Sandbox, and is it true?

A: The Google Sandbox theory suggests that whenever Google detects a new website, it withholds its rightful ranking for a period while it determines whether your site is a genuine, credible, long term site. It does this to discourage the creation of SPAM websites (sites which serve no purpose other than to boost the ranking of some other sites).

There is a lot of anecdotal evidence supporting the theory, but there are also many discount. Nobody categorically proved its existence.

Q: What is the link Google depreciation filter, and is it true?

5 Tips For Improving Your Site’s Search Engine Positioning

Almost all webmasters or website owners are looking for ways to get better results from their websites. They wish to improve their site’s standing and get better rankings in search engines. Remember, search engines follow text links more easily. A robot that lands on your main page or site map page will follow the text links and then visit and index your lower level pages.
4. Increase the quantity and quality of inbound links:
In fiercely competitive categories it will be difficult to improve web page ranking without obtaining a good number of links to your page from other websites. If you have very good and valuable copy, other sites may link to you because you are a valuable resource. However, if you want to speed this process along you will have to actively request links from other websites, either by trading links or by getting your content (with a link back to your site) placed on other websites.
When it comes to links you should keep in mind one important principle: it is not the quantity of links that is important, but the quality. One good link from an authority site such as CNN or Wikipedia is worth more than dozens of links from other sites. To get these quality links, there is no short cut. You will have to earn it by having a site that provides a lot of useful information.
5. Keep up with Search Engine Developments:
The challenge of improving your web page ranking and search engine positioning is dynamic. Search engines are not static. Most of the big search engines of yesterday have disappeared or are only minor players today. Google Page Rank Update

Well it finally happened, the Google Page rank update. Google updated all of my page ranks on all of the sites I manage the search engine optimization for. I am happy to say that none of my page ranks haven fallen and several have gained one or two places.
Google’s last page rank update was in April and many webmasters have been waiting since the last update to reap the rewards of all the hard work they have put in optimizing pages, building quality back links, adding continuous fresh content, and holding their breaths.
I haven’t seen any keyword placement movement since the new Google update but it may take up to two full weeks to see how significant the Google page rank still is to search engines like Yahoo and MSN.
I believe Google page rank is still relevant and will impact millions of websites around the world. The Google page rank is a calculation of various areas of your sites worth and as Google adjust its algorithm to come up with the best possible score for your websites value in the market your are trying to place in again.
Many of you are now seeing page ranks on new sites that have had a score of zero for several months. Others of you have see your great page rank go down, which may hurt your overall placement only time will tell.
I have seen the results of page ranks dropping on Text Link sites due to selling of these links but haven’t seen the punishment Google is said to be giving out to people who purchase these links for their sites. I am sure Google is weighing the cheating factor and grading the sites accordingly.

Is Google Page Rank Still Relevant?

What is Google Page Rank and how does it affect me you ask. Google Page Rank is a website score that represents how important a websites relevance is in the category of business they represent. Google gets this score from measuring the amount of quality links pointing to your site from other websites with the same relevance.
If you have a link to your website from another website with a Google Page Rank of 5 and is relevant to the subject matter your company represents, then Google sees that as a quality link. If you can get your link on a homepage of a high ranking website that is relevant to yours, then you will get a higher score than putting it on a sub page of the site which will usually get a lower Page Rank.
Google usually makes a major Page Rank update every three to four months. Its servers around the globe have to compare there information and the Page Rank is not complete until all of Googles servers have been updated with the new Page Rank scores.
The Page Rank is measured from 1 to ten one being the lowest score and ten being the highest you can have. New sites and sites that have not had any search engine optimization applied to them will have a score of 0. If you use Mozilla Firefox for browsing you can install a new add called SEO Quake. This tool will allow you to see how many links you have in Google and Yahoo.
It will show you the sites page rank and when the site was registered. You can do a search in Google for new music for example. The free results will show up with all the link info and page rank score below the text listing. You can compare all the sites for yourself and can make a partial determination that the Google Page Rank is still a large factor is determining your placement for targeted keywords in the free listings.
I currently manage the SEO campaigns for 27 successful websites and have noticed my Google placement on all staying consistent in their positions as Yahoo and MSN positions continue to rise. Google has made several updates on my back link quality and count on each site but I see little movement in the sites placement since April when the last PR update was performed. The page rank is more than just a number and if it is that irrelevant than Google has not made many other major updates on its server since April either.
Just remember, optimize your site for your customers first and for the search engines second. You can get plenty of traffic using the wrong keywords but visitors will see your site is not what they were looking for when they get there. A few quality back links are more relevant than a bunch of non relevant back links. Use common sense and consider what your customers are looking for and what they expect to see when they get to your website.

The SEO Rip-off Search Engine Optimization

I decided to write this article as a result of many e-mails. It seems more and more people are victims of bad SEO. The main complaint is that they are paying entirely too much for little or no results. In addition, many are in the grip of bad SEO practices. If you plan to rent a pro SEO in the future, I suggest you use this article as a set of guidelines.

Before going to any person or business Seo Services , proceed as follows:

A) Learn how to set up and tested an SEO firm before you negotiate.

Do they have a strong client list under their belt?

Are they published?

B) Consider their portfolios.

What kind of results have they produced?

Contact a few of their customers. Are they satisfied with the work done?

C) To review and confirm their methods?

How are they going to optimize your site to access your keywords?

Did they use organic methods? Some individuals or companies use doorway pages, hide text in the background, use the re-orients the blacklist and other methods. Stay away from these values.

D) Get at least three different proposals for SEO.

Look carefully each. Are there any similarities? Proposals will help you to see which companies are honest and who are trying to sell you something you do not need.

Page rank is all about the number of links between your website and other relevant websites. Google is actually interested in links between individual pages of a site rather then just a domain.
The page rank of a web page can be seen in the Google page rank bar on the Google Toolbar. It actually takes 10 links to reach PR1, and then a lot more to reach 2 and up. That’s not it, because it also depends on the Page Rank of the page that will be linking to your page. Nobody knows the exact formula Google uses to determine your page rank, but there are ways to improve your rank and thus build your business through more traffic to your site.
Try out these five Google tips to help get more traffic to your website:
1.How can you increase your Google page rank? By increasing the amount of relevant websites that link back to yours. Keep in mind that the links do not need to be specific to your site, but to your specific pages. This is why it’s called page rank.
TIP: Avoid using link farms or Free For All (FFA) pages!
2. Use keyphrases and not keywords. Keywords are not specific enough anymore to help you rank well in Google due to the large number of websites competing for traffic. Avoid wasting your time optimizing your pages using keywords only. By using specific keyphrases where there is less competition you have a much better chance to rank well in Google and to also improve the quality of your websites traffic.
3. Google likes to see a lot of copy on your web pages. The copy text should contain your keyphrases, but should also be informative and helpful. Why would someone visit your website if you just list your keyphrases? The content of your website should encourage your visitors to laugh, think, get upset, and stay informed. But most importantly should bring them back for more.
TIP: Interesting, informative copy is much more attractive to Google then useless nonsense.
4. The easiest way to find quality backlinks for your site is by installing the free Google Toolbar. With it you can find out the Page Rank (PR) and backlinks for any site you visit and then easily determine if it is worth the time and effort to link to that site.
5. Choose a short catchy domain name. If possible, find a keyword for your domain, one that people will remember and that is easy to type into Google or a browser to find what they’re looking for on the Internet.
We are talking about putting in some time and effort, but if you want it bad enough then you have to pay the price. Those who take the time to optimize their pages for Google and achieve a high page rank are the ones with all the traffic.
